Terms
These terms cover the El Grande app and elgrande.app. Using either means you accept them. If you do not, do not use them.
Who you are dealing with
Octave ehf., trading as Octave Studios, Reykjavík, Iceland. Reach us at hello@elgrande.app.
Free to play
El Grande is free to play. There is no account and nothing to sign up for. Hosts can add El Grande+, an optional subscription set out below. Guests and the core game never pay. If we ever charge for anything else, we will say so first, and nothing you already have will start costing money on its own.
El Grande+
El Grande+ is an optional monthly subscription for the person hosting a room. Guests never pay. Everything free stays free.
- The price is the one the App Store shows before you buy. It is charged to your Apple ID.
- It renews every month unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Manage or cancel it in iPhone Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.
- Refunds go through Apple.
- Apple’s Standard License Agreement (EULA) applies to the app.
Your side
- Be old enough to agree to these terms where you live, and to meet the app’s age rating.
- What you type in a room is shown to everyone in that room. Type answers, not abuse, and do not put anything private in there.
- Do not break the game for other people, script it, resell it, or take it apart to run your own copy of it.
- You are responsible for what you type. Answers go to the services named in the privacy policy.
Our side
We run the game as well as we can. We do not promise it is always up, that every call is right, or that a round survives a bad connection. El Grande rules on answers by machine, and machines get things wrong. That is what the challenge is for.
We can change the game, the topics and these terms. If a change matters, this page gets new words and a new date. We can also cut off anyone abusing the service.
What belongs to whom
The name, the artwork, the topics and the look are ours. Playing does not hand any of that over. What you type stays yours. We pass it on only to run the game, to see how it is played, and to work out what broke, as the privacy page sets out company by company.
If something goes wrong
The game is provided as it is. So far as the law allows, Octave ehf. is not liable for losses that come from using it. Nothing here takes away rights you have under Icelandic or EU consumer law.
Law
Icelandic law applies. Disputes go to the District Court of Reykjavík.
